Who we are

For far too long, individuals with disabilities have faced invisible barriers—barriers not just of accessibility, but of belonging. Tiffani Fehrenbach saw those barriers firsthand, and she couldn’t look away. She didn’t just see a gap in services; she saw people, families, and dreams left on the sidelines. And she knew something had to change.

Tiffani’s journey began with a passion for serving others. With a degree in Therapeutic Recreation from BYU-Idaho, she devoted herself to creating spaces where everyone—regardless of ability—could experience the simple, undeniable joy of movement, adventure, and connection. During her internship at Eagle Mount in Billings, Montana, she saw the need for adaptive recreation and how it could change lives.

However her passion for inclusion started long before her studies. She grew up watching her uncle, who had cerebral palsy, be treated differently from everyone else. She saw a girl with Down syndrome told she couldn’t play basketball, even though she loved the game. She saw a blind man prove everyone wrong by riding a bike with a guide—only to still be doubted by those around him. Time and time again, she saw people being underestimated, excluded, and told “no.”

When she returned to Idaho, she searched for a program that could offer the same hope and opportunity to her community. But there was nothing. No doors open. No paths paved. Just the heartbreaking reality that those who needed these experiences most had nowhere to turn.

And so, she built it herself.

In 2024, Encircle Rec was born—not from convenience, but from conviction. It was built for the child who watches from the shore, longing to feel the water beneath them. For the athlete whose body may have changed, but whose spirit still craves competition. For the families who have spent years hearing "no," but who finally, finally get to hear "yes."

Encircle Rec is more than an organization—it is a promise. A promise that no one will be left behind. A promise that adventure, joy, and connection belong to everyone. As the program grows, so does the dream: a future where no person with a disability ever has to wonder if they belong in the world of recreation—because the answer will always be yes.
